Singapore 2011 Stamp - 100 Years of Aviation in Singapore


On 16 March 2011, Singpost launched a set of five stamps  marking 100 years of aviation in Singapore. Singapore's have made a lot of progress in aviation during these 100 years. Each stamps depicts an important milestone in that progress. Both the aircrafts and the infrastructure have of course been greatly modernised greatly. From a racecourse, to Seletar, Kallang, Paya Lebar, and finally Changi Airport, the journey was commemorated in the postage stamps. The following history is excerpted from the leaflet accompanying the stamp issue.

Singapore 2008 Stamp - Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 3

Changi Airport's Terminal 3 became operational on the 9th of January, 2008. The test flight for this opening was a Singapore Airlines flight departing for Perth, Australia at 5.30 pm Singapore Time.

The opening of Terminal 3 brings to fruition the three terminal masterplan for Singapore Changi Airport. Poised to propel Changi Airport further ahead as a premier global air hub and the world’s best airport, Terminal 3 is set to deliver unsurpassed quality of service, efficiency and safety, and promises a brand new experience for all travellers who pass through its gates.
